Concerning the publishing of his edition of Shakespeare and The classical English reader. Recommends Wordsworth, Spenser, Milton, Burns, Coleridge, and Byron to be read for studying poetry. For prose he recommends Edmund Burke, [Sir Walter] Scott, Bishop Butler, and [Robert] Southey.
